Eco-friendly hotel
The hotel Mas de l'Oulivié joined in 2010 the association of "HOTELS AU NATUREL ® " and is therefore committed to sustainable practices throughout its daily hotel management.
The following measures have been implemented :
- We have installed flow regulations on all taps and showers to control water consumption, as water is becoming a scarce resource in les Alpilles.
- All bathrooms are being equipped with shampoo and gel shower pump dispensers to limit individual packaging and reduce solid waste. The shampoo & body gel "Une Olive en Provence" is made from olive oil olive leaf extract from Maussane-les-Alpilles.
- We are gradually fitting all our rooms with energy-saver card switches (1/4 of the rooms equipped at this time).
- We only purchase biodegradable or Ecolabel certified cleaning supplies.
- Our brochure is printed on recycled paper and we use progressively recycled supplies when stocks are exhausted.
- Our employees have been given a training course to raise their awareness of environmentally friendly behaviour.
- We are replacing every bulb with economic lighting.
- Your room temperature is automatically set on 23°C in summer.
- The hotel has implemented waste separation for recycling purposes.
- Local products are offered at breakfast and lunch time.
- We promote the new "Food lovers' visit by bicycle" scheme, which aims to create awareness of eco mobility and local products in the "Parc naturel regional des Alpilles".

WHAT MEANS "HOTEL AU NATUREL" ?
The association of Hotels au Naturel gathers 22 hotels within 6 national parks run on a regional basis, all located in privileged resorts with "nature" activities.

The hotels involve themselves in an ecotourism project of sustainable development and environment protection. They respect the natural and social environment of their region and propose local produces.
Educated staff to "green" is available to inform you on places of interest to visit in the natural parks as well as walking and hiking trails close to the hotel and all other "nature" activities.

APRIL 28, 2010 : MAS DE L'OULIVIE BECOMES THE FIRST HOTEL AU NATUREL IN THE NATURAL PARK OF LES ALPILLES
The Association of les Hotels au Naturel, the natural Park of les Alpilles and the hotel Mas de l'Oulivié signed an agreement on April 26, 2010, to prove that Mas de l'Oulivié joined the Hotels au Naturel.
The Mas de l'Oulivié has also been awarded the label "Accueil du Parc naturel régional des Alpilles" for participating in the protection of the environment of the Alpilles.
Mas de l'Oulivié chose to work with local producers in order that clients can taste fruits and vegetables from Provence, olive oil from our harvest, goat cheeses from the next village, provençal pastries and home-made jams.
Mas de l'Oulivié also takes actions to conserve water, install eco-friendly lighting, recycle wherever possible, use biodegradable cleaning agents, promote nature activities such as biking and preserve the attractiveness of the hotel site.
From April 6, 2011, the nature guides of the Natural Park of les Alpilles organise pedestrian walks to discover local animals and plants in les Baux each wednesday. Tel 04 90 54 34 39
